Turbine Lamp

Spring 2008

What does it mean to be true to your materials when the material itself is designed to accommodate any shape you can imagine? Ideally, you strive to be as true to the freedoms as you would have been to the constraints. Here, I worked to design a form that would have been exceedingly difficult to make without 3D printing, but wouldn't look so bizarre that it wouldn't have been recognized as a lamp.
